Top 10 Athletes Who Went Out on Top
While nothing is official yet, speculation is peaking that Peyton Manning could be playing in his last game when he and his Denver Broncos face off against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. News broke that Manning had been caught on camera saying, "This might be my last rodeo" to Bill Belichick following the Broncos' win over the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Manning is now 39, and while his team has had success, he's struggled - throwing just nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions in 2015.
A win over the Panthers would be a great way to put those struggles behind him and cap off his legendary career. If Manning does call it quits, he'll be going out as the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards (71,940), touchdowns (539) and game-winning drives (56).
With a win in his final game, Manning would join a solid roster of legends who stepped off the stage gracefully and with a bang (i.e. not like Brett Favre, Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant). Here are our Top 10 Athletes Who Went Out on Top.
